Not sure if you want to move to Charlotte, North Carolina? Then this video is for you, because I'm going to tell you my top seven reasons why Charlotte, North Carolina is a great place to live. My name is Eli Magids, and I am a realtor here in Charlotte, North Carolina, specializing in all forms of residential real estate, but my great love is luxury properties and new construction. For all the best information about Charlotte and everything about Charlotte real estate, please subscribe to my channel so that you will be notified when I upload a new video every Tuesday and we could stay in touch with each other. By the end of this video, you're going to have a better idea of the beautiful stuff that's going on here in Charlotte. After all, I moved here nine years ago from New York, and it was the best move I ever made.

Number seven: Charlotte has an ideal location. It is located three hours to the shore, which is going to be Charleston. It's going to be Hilton Head. It's going to be Myrtle Beach. It's going to be Kiawah Island. It's going to be Isle of Palms. So you can go to the ocean, or it's going to be about two hours to the mountains, which is Asheville. It's going to be Boone. It's going to be Blowing Rock. So wherever you are in Charlotte, you're no more than three hours away from ocean or mountains.

Number six: the traffic here is so much better than it is in most other metropolitan areas. It's absolutely ridiculous. When you're comparing Charlotte traffic to New York, New York City, New Jersey, Massachusetts, L.A. ... Come on, L.A. What's going on with the traffic? There is some traffic here, but it's minimal. It's hardly anything compared to many of the major metropolitan areas. So if you're looking for less traffic and a better lifestyle, Charlotte may be for you.

Number five: the people here are absolutely lovely. I mean, so nice, so courteous. I mean, it is crazy. People wave to you, they say hello, they talk to you. It just changes your whole attitude, your whole demeanor. It's just a beautiful way to live. The kids here are brought up to say yes ma'am, yes sir, or no sir. It's just a whole different way of being.

And courteous, I mean, you can extend it over to like the shopping centers where you go with the little carts. I mean, people put away the carts, as opposed to New York where there are carts in every shop in every stall, where you can't park your car. People put the carts away. If you're trying to make a left-hand turn, people actually stop their car and let you in, and they wave. I mean, what's that about? It is so nice, and even the people that move down here, who are not from Charlotte, which is most of us, everyone picks up on that kindness, and it just makes such a huge, huge difference.

Number four: the weather here in Charlotte is off the hook beautiful. I mean, it is gorgeous. It is about 73 degrees today. It is beautiful, blue skies. We have all four seasons. Okay? That's summer, spring, winter, fall. Right? Winter is typically mild. It'll get down to a low sometimes a little bit below 30. We will have snow maybe once or twice a year. It will be an inch or two. The place will shut down. I mean, shut down, but you'll have an inch or two. It'll make it beautiful. It will melt away.

Michigan. Talk to me, man. Are you talking about like six feet of snow like every other day? New York, upstate New York, Jersey. Listen, the weather here is great. Summers are warm. Warmer than I'd like, but the winter, the spring, and the fall are ideal. You can spend literally 345 days out of the year outside enjoying the weather. Where else can you do that? Maybe San Diego, maybe L.A. Anywhere else in the country ... I mean, Chicago. Come on, guys. Charlotte is awesome.

So I have a question for you guys. What is the number one thing that you're looking for when you're thinking about making a move to Charlotte, or anywhere else for that matter? What's the number one thing that you are looking for? Please comment below. Let me know what it is that you're looking for. What's your number one thing?

Number three: the property taxes here are so low that your head will pop off when you find out how much property taxes really are. So for instance, in New York on Long Island, I was living in a house about 2,900 square feet paying $18,000. Can you hear that? $18,000 in property taxes. For a house very similar to that here in Charlotte, you're going to be paying close to about four to five thousand dollars, literally a third of what you're paying in New York. And if you move to the county next door to Charlotte, next to Mecklenburg County, which is Union County, you're going to be paying even less. A million dollar house in Union County, which is going to be a freaking mansion, is going to cost you about six grand in property taxes. L.A., talk to me. San Francisco, talk to me. Chicago, New Jersey, are you kidding me? Give me a call.

Number two: the amount of property that you can purchase here as compared to many metropolitan areas is completely crazy. Here in Charlotte, $600,000 is going to buy you a McMansion. I mean, a beautiful house, 5,000 square feet. It is just ridiculous what you can afford, and it's ridiculous what you can live in compared to many other places in the United States. So if you want more bang for your buck, and a lot more bang for your buck, if you want to live like a king and a queen, Charlotte may be the place for you.

Number one reason that Charlotte ... What is it, the number one reason? The number one reason that Charlotte is a great place to live is that it is extraordinarily kid friendly and family friendly, and a great place to raise a family. Now, I moved down here, this little guy, who's turning 11 in a couple of days, was two, and this has been a godsend for us to have moved down here and to bring him up. There are so many kid activities here from the soccer leagues, to the football leagues, to the basketball leagues, to the baseball leagues. All the shopping centers are kid friendly. The restaurants are kid friendly. Like I said before, people are just very friendly. Kids are abounding here in Charlotte. It is an awesome place for them, and I highly recommend it, and it's my number one reason why you should be living here in Charlotte. Do you agree, sir?

Yes, I do.
