What are the pros and cons of living in North Carolina, especially the Queen's City, Charlotte? Watch this video to find out. My name is Eli Magids, and I'm a realtor here in Charlotte, North Carolina specializing in luxury and new home construction, and if you've never been here before, you need to subscribe. Hit the red button, hit the bell, so that you're notified every time I upload a new video every Tuesday, and make sure you stay tuned to the end where I'm going to give you a free Charlotte real estate handout PDF that only my insiders get.

In this video, you're going to get my take on the good stuff and the bad here in Charlotte.

Pro number one is that we're not greatly affected by hurricanes and heavy weather storms. Because we're three hours away from the beach, once a hurricane comes onshore, we get the wind, we get the rain, but it's not severe. We do lose some trees, sometimes some electric power, but nothing crazy like it hit in Wilmington or Hurricane Sandy up north or what hit Texas or Florida, none of that stuff. The con to that is that we're three hours from the beach, so if you're a surfer dude like you know I think I am, it's three hours to the beach.

Pro number two for Charlotte is if you have a sporty car or you want a sporty car and you want to drive, you actually can drive it here in Charlotte. The speed limit is 70 miles an hour. If it's not rush hour, the sky's the limit. You can go kind of do what you want to do. We are home to NASCAR, just remember that. That's a pro that's a pro for me. Instead of keeping your car in the garage, you can actually drive it. The con to that is the cops are watching, so get yourself a good radar detector.

Pro number three is we have a very livable and accessible uptown/downtown area. We don't call it downtown. For some reason they call it Uptown Charlotte, very accessible, you can get in very easily without pulling out your hair. I'm from New York and look, look what happened to me. You can go in, you can see a show, you can go for dinner, you can see a concert, and it's not crazy. It's really usable and accessible. Now the con to that, it is definitely not New York City, it's definitely not Chicago, it's definitely Los Angeles as far as the variety is concerned, but that could be a good thing too.

So my pro number four for Charlotte is that it's just naturally beautiful. It's gorgeous. Beautiful blue skies. There are trees everywhere. There's a huge tree canopy, flowers blooming. I mean, it's just a really stunning place to be. There is a con that goes along with that. Come April when everything is pollinating, there's going to be a lot of yellow pollen falling all over the place on the cars and on your body, so you're going to need some allergy medicine if you're susceptible to it.

Question: What are the pros and cons of where you live? Comment below. Let me know where you're from and let me know what the pros and cons are of where you're from.

Pro number five is the health care. We have a phenomenal health care system here. We have great physicians, great hospitals, 24-hour access to walk-in medical clinics. There are medical clinics walk-in for kids. Everything is accessible pretty much 24 hours a day. The con to that is that we only have two competing medical centers. We have Novant and Atrium Carolinas Medical System, and for my two cents, I wish I had more of a choice.

Pro number six is that we've got a pro football team, the Carolina Panthers, which I've adopted as one of my teams, and we have the Charlotte Hornets, which is another one of my teams, and these teams are accessible because tickets are affordable. You can actually get tickets and you could actually go to the games. The one bad thing for me, which is a big con, is that there's no major league baseball. I don't have a major league baseball team here, and the closest team is the Atlanta Braves. I'm not going to Atlanta to watch an Atlanta Braves game, but that's just me. So we do have triple-A baseball, a beautiful stadium, BB&T ball park uptown, but no pro baseball.

Pro number seven is our airport. Charlotte Douglas International Airport is a world class facility, a world class airport undergoing rapid expansion. You can valet park your car. It's easy access in, easy access out. It's phenomenal. It's a hub for American Airlines. You can catch a flight to pretty much anywhere, and it's the fifth or sixth busiest airport in the world. That's right, in the world. Now a con to that, being an American hub is the majority of the flights are American Airlines, and that gives them a little bit too much of a monopoly for my sake.

Pro number eight is Charlotte is growing very fast. It's one of the fastest growing cities in the United States, and what that means is you're getting a lot of transplants from around the United States and around the world, so most people here in Charlotte are actually not from Charlotte, and that leads to people being a little bit friendlier, and I think it's a little easier actually to make friends because no one's actually from here. Now the con to that is that we're growing fast. We're not that small little town anymore. We're a fast growing city with a lot of people coming in.

Pro number nine. We have beautiful affordable housing and low taxes. You heard that right. Affordable beautiful homes and low taxes, so what are you waiting for?
